Dan DeMott, Director:
Retired teacher from Northwest Missouri State University, has written seventeen one acts, three full lengths, a musical with Daniel Doss, a musical melodrama and a children’s musical. The Theatre Studio, The Vital Theatre Company and the Red Room Theatre have produced seven of Dan’s one-act plays in New York City. Dan has directed more than one hundred plays ranging from Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams. Dan acted professionally in New York for ten years and performed in ten Off-Broadway productions as well as many other productions.
Rick Gilpin, Music Director:
Teacher in his 29th year of teaching vocal music. Presently, he is Chairperson and Director of Choral Activities at Raytown High School. He is also director at South Broadland Presbyterian Church in Kansas City and director of the Independence Community Chorus in Independence. He received his BME in 1980, his MME in 1989 and his Specialist Degree in 2001. He is a director and clinician for junior high and senior high vocalists in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa. He has held various offices in the Missouri Music Educators Association and is a member of KC Metro MMFA, National Choral Directors Association.
Vance Baldwin, Asst. Director/Choreographer:
Holds a BS in education, vocal emphasis and is currently in his senior year at the University of Missouri in KC’s Conservatory of Music and Dance where he will complete his BA in dance. Vance has choreographed many musical productions as well as for dance companies and show choirs. Vance has extensive experience as a performer in a broad spectrum of musical theater productions.
Frank Polleck, Technical Director/Set Designer:
Currently technical director for the Performing Arts Association, Robidoux Resident Theater, St. Joseph Symphony and other organizations that use the Missouri Theater. He won third place in the nation for his set design for “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Frank is also the technical director and stage designer for the Miss Missouri, Miss Oklahoma, and Miss Nebraska pageants. Frank was awarded the Mayor’s Individual Artist Award.
